Kumi

Child Safety Standards

Last updated: 17 October 2026

Kumi has a zero-tolerance policy towards child sexual abuse and exploitation. These standards apply to every part of the app: profiles, photos, private chats, event chats, events and any other content posted by users.

This is a translation of the Italian page; if the two ever differ, the Italian version prevails.

1. Adults only

Kumi is only for people who are 18 or older. We ask for the date of birth at sign-up; creating and joining events also requires profile verification with a selfie, checked by a person from the Kumi team.

If there is credible evidence that an account belongs to a minor, the account is suspended or closed and its data is handled as required by law and by the Privacy Policy. The age limit does not replace the measures described here: every report about the safety of a minor is handled as a priority.

2. Prohibited conduct and content

Using Kumi to create, upload, share, request, promote or facilitate any form of child sexual abuse or exploitation is prohibited. In particular, the following are prohibited:

  • child sexual abuse material (CSAM), whether real, simulated or digitally generated;
  • grooming, manipulation or contact with sexual or exploitative intent;
  • sextortion, blackmail, threats or requests for sexual images or acts involving a minor;
  • trafficking, recruitment, prostitution or any commercial exploitation of minors;
  • sexualisation of minors, sexual comments aimed at minors, links or instructions that facilitate such conduct;
  • attempts to get around reporting, moderation or age checks.

3. How to report

In the app you can report a profile or a conversation with Report, in the menu of every profile and every chat, and block the other person straight away to stop any contact.

If the problem involves a possible minor, besides reporting in the app please write to info@kumiapp.space so we know right away what it is about. To avoid spreading illegal material further, do not attach or forward any CSAM: just tell us the account, content or conversation and anything that helps us find it.

If a child is in immediate danger, contact the emergency services (112 in the EU) or the local authorities right away.

4. Review and action

The Kumi team reviews every report and, when needed, removes the content, restricts features, suspends the account or closes it permanently; in serious cases action is immediate and without notice. Three reports suspend a profile automatically, pending review. We may also prevent new sign-ins and keep only the information needed for investigations or legal obligations. Retaliation against anyone who reports in good faith is not allowed.

5. Competent authorities

Kumi complies with the laws that apply to child safety. When the law requires it or it is necessary to protect a minor, suspected cases and relevant information are reported to the competent authorities (in Italy, the Polizia Postale e delle Comunicazioni). Valid requests from the authorities are handled according to the law and with respect for the privacy of the people involved.
